on parenting.01What I am learning…..

  • I am my children’s first and most important teacher.
  • Life is their classroom.
  • Every moment is a teachable one.
  • Everyday I have the opportunity to learn something new from my sons.
  • Everyday I have the opportunity to teach something new to my sons.
  • I have much more patience in me (than I give myself credit).
  • Every mistake I make is an opportunity to refine my parenting skills.
  • My desire to do my Best always wins.
  • I have the Power and Wisdom of God to guide me.
  • Keep It Real.
  • Be totally real with the boys. Real with my feelings, thoughts, words.
  • Keep it real. Keep it light. Keep it friendly. Keep it engaging. Keep it respectful. Keep it loving.
  • Always choose encouragement first.
  • Look for and find Mommy Mentors.
  • Read a book. Or two. Or three. Get informed.
  • Trust and follow my intuition.
  • Enjoy the company of these little boys.
  • Acknowledge that our time together is borrowed time. Limited and indefinite.
  • Be in great appreciation of every day shared.
  • Remember the Kodak moments.
  • Be SILLY more often.
  • Treat them as precious cargo that must be returned undamaged and in excellent condition.
  • They are passengers in my life journey not the journey itself.
  • Maintain healthy loving boundaries.
  • Keep a healthy perspective. Its easier to see the whole beautiful picture from a distance.
  • They are not mine. They do not belong to me. Their souls are truly free and it is my job to keep them free.
  • And it is my responsibility to lovingly forgive myself when I forget these things. Self-compassion is this momma’s soul salve.
